Your office doesn’t need to be located in a famous place to use this markup.  Geographic coordinates that are easily digested by search help engines show results to people that are close by your geographic location.  The schema tagging looks something like this:

<div itemscope itemtype=”http://schema.org/Attorney”>

<p><span itemtype=”name”>John J. Lawfirm LLC</span></p>

<div itemscope itemtype=”http://schema.org/Place”>

<h1>Come and visit<span itemprop=”name”>Lawyers and Sons</span>?</h1>

<div itemprop=”geo” itemscope itemtype=”http://schema.org/GeoCoordinates”>

<p>We are located just west of I-94 near 12 Maples Mall.</p>

<meta itemprop=”latitude” content=”40.75″ />

<meta itemprop=”longitude” content=”73.98″ />

</div>

</div>

Adding GEO location through schema tagging is helpful on several levels.  It is extremely beneficial when search engines are trying to match relevant results to a searcher’s location.  It is also very helpful when people try to get directions via Google maps or other applications.  Information like this can be used in versatile ways to help users have a better experience and interact with your business more efficiently online.
